Congratulations on becoming an MSF chapter member. You have taken the first step in growing your business and your network. You were invited to your chapter because you are well liked, and you are very good at your profession. Being very good at your profession is very important to the growth and success of your chapter and we are glad to have you.
MSF, was created to help members like you grow your business. We want every member, in every chapter, to be very successful and we hope to exceed your expectations. In all MSF Chapters, “We work for each other”.
All of the members of your chapter are now your sales team and each and every one of the team will be searching for good referrals for you every single day. Your job is to train your chapter on how to find good referrals for you and what to say when they find the referral. You will also be looking for referrals for your chapter members every day. This sounds like a lot of work, but it is not. You simply learn to listen and ask questions to uncover the needs of people you already meet every week. Soon it will become like second nature and be fun and rewarding. You are doing a favor not only to your chapter members, but to the clients you refer them to and everyone will thank you.
Attending member success training is a crucial part of your success and you are invited to come back as many times as you would like. New leadership will change over for each chapter on February 1st of each year.
This class is called Member Success and it is mandatory for new members, but you may come back and retake it as many times as you like. Content will vary occasionally, and it is recommended that you re-take this class every 3–6 months. Please take advantage of these as often as possible.
Chapters meet once a week for 1.5 hours with a structured agenda and meetings always begin and end on time. Members should arrive 5 minutes before the posted start time for the open networking portion of the chapter, which will be 15-20 minutes before the President speaks. Only one person per profession is allowed in a chapter. Once you join, you will lock out your competition. Members may not belong to any other group that only allows one person per profession. Members must show up or get a substitute for each meeting and are only allowed four unexcused absences in a 6-month period. If something comes up at the last minute, and you do not have time to find a substitute, please call or text the President AND VP.
Members visiting other chapters should announce that they are from another chapter. Visiting members must not do or say anything that competes with a member of that chapter, however if that chapter does not have a member in your profession you are encouraged to train them how to best get you referrals and you are encouraged to ask for their referrals and business. Visiting members should pay for their own meal. Before visiting another chapter, the visiting member should call or email that chapter’s President first.
